Description
P-3 Black Underglaze Painting Enamel, 28g
P-3 is a black underglaze painting enamel. It comes in dry powder form.
The dry powder form can be mixed with either a water base painting medium (A-1 Klyr-fire) or oil base medium (A-4 Squeegee oil or A-5 Thinning oil).
The mixed P-3 product can then be applied to the work piece with a crow quill pen or a brush.
If using P-3 that has been mixed with an oil, the piece may need to be smoked prior to firing. Dry the piece on top of the kiln, then place the piece into the mouth of the furnace and hold for 5 seconds. The piece is removed for several (5 to 10) seconds then put back into the furnace for a few more seconds (5 to 10). This process is continued until the piece starts to smoke. Continue the process until it appears the smoking has stopped or slowed down considerably. Let the furnace regain its temperature then fire the piece for 1 minute or until the surface has glossed (1450 degrees F.)
If using a crow quill pen to apply the product the smoking process may not be necessary as the amount of oil is so small. It still should be dried on top of the kiln before firing.
If the P-3 dry powder was mixed with a water based medium, the smoking procedure is not necessary. Dry the piece on top of the kiln then fire for 1 minute at 1450 degrees F. or until glossy.

UK Mainland
- Orders below £50: Charged at £2.95 and typically sent via Royal Mail 24 or 24 Tracked service.
- Orders above £50: Sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24 service.
Please note that while next-day delivery is common, it cannot be guaranteed. If you urgently require your order, we strongly recommend selecting the Royal Mail Special Delivery option at checkout, which incurs an additional charge.

International
We are working to integrate with Royal Mail and DHL at checkout. For now, please add your items to the basket and contact us for a shipping quote at checkout.
Most international orders are shipped via Royal Mail’s Tracked and Signed service. Orders generally arrive within 4-10 days, but customs delays can occur. If no one is home, the item may be taken to your local sorting office.
UK Value Added Tax (VAT) Charges
We will automatically remove any applicable UK VAT from your order during checkout once you select a shipping destination outside the United Kingdom or Isle of Man.
You may be subject to import taxes, duties, and fees once your parcel arrives in your country. Typically, the courier will contact you once your parcel has been processed by customs.
For VAT purposes, Jersey and Guernsey are considered outside the United Kingdom, so UK VAT will be removed from orders shipping to these locations.
