Luxi Polishing Compound

Luxi is a water and vegetable based polishing compound with the following advantages:

  • Non-hazardous, no silica present, uses Alumina abrasive
  • Less compound used, stays on buff much longer
  • Much less residue, less clogging of polishing motor
  • Allows less sandpaper use
  • Residue easy to clean off
  • The range contains blocks suitable for scratch removal and high polishing of all kinds of jewellery metals including gold, silver, platinum, titanium, steel and soft base metals
ASIAN BLUE
  • Weight: 350g
  • Typical buff: 150mm split lap wheel (wool) at 3000 rpm
  • Starting after 180 grit sandpaper. The most aggressive compound in the Luxi range. Used mostly for small low speed buffs, small bristle brushes, split lap wheels where more aggression is needed for all precious and non-precious metals.

BLACK
  • Degree of cut: 10 (high)
  • Brightness: 6 (medium to high)
  • Weight: 240g
  • Typical buff: Sisal buff
  • Starting after 180-220 grit sandpaper on Sisal buffs
  • Can be used on split lap wheels after 180 grit sandpaper for Stainless Steel, and is perfect for extra scratch removal using cotton stitched buffs after 1000 grit sandpaper for platinum (standard shape items)
  • First stage for plastics,  veneers, acrylics, brass

GREY
  • Degree of cut: 9 (medium)
  • Brightness: 7 (medium to high)
  • Weight: 250g
  • Typical buff: Best results using 150 mm sisal buffs running @3000 rpm
  • Aggressive compound. Can be used on Sisal buffs after180 grit sandpaper for Stainless steel. Perfect for Platinum for 1st stage scratch removal.

YELLOW
  • Degree of cut: 8 (high)
  • Brightness: 8 (high)
  • Weight: 300g
  • Typical buff: Best results using 150 mm muslin or felt stitched buffs running @3000 rpm
  • Aggressive compound for bronze, brass and silver. Perfect for following 240-320 grit sandpaper on stitched cotton buffs. Can be used on polymers also.

BLUE
  • Degree of cut: 7 (medium to high)
  • Brightness: 8 (high)
  • Weight: 230g
  • Typical buff: Best results using 150 mm cotton or felt stitched buffs running @3000 rpm
  • Universal compound for gold, silver, bronze and brass. Can be used for both scratch removal and final lustre in one process from 320 grit sandpaper.

PINK
  • Degree of cut: 4 (low)
  • Brightness: 9 (high)
  • Weight: 275g
  • Typical buff: Best results using 150 mm dia loosefold DG buffs @ 3000 rpm
  • Final polishing compound for platinum and stainless steel.
  • Ideal as a final high lustre after using LUXI Grey, Yellow or Blue.

RED
  • Degree of cut: 3 (low)
  • Brightness: 10 (high)
  • Weight: 250g
  • Typical buff: Best results using 150 mm loosefold buffs @ 3000 rpm.
  • The same colour as traditional “Red Rouge”, but made with all LUXI water based compound materials. Ideal for final high lustering for gold and silver.

SUPER FINE WHITE
  • Degree of cut: 3 (low)
  • Brightness: 10 (high)
  • Weight: 250g
  • Typical buff: Best results using 150 mm dia loosefold buffs working @ 3000 rpm
  • Ideal for a highly lustered finish for gold and silver.
  • The best LUXI compound for use after using LUXI yellow or blue.

ORANGE
  • Degree of cut: 2 (very low)
  • Brightness: 10+  (very high)
  • Weight: 250g
  • Typical buff: Best results using Luxol 150 mm dia loosefold buffs working @3000 rpm.
  • Luxi Orange compound is ideal for producing very bright and clean colouring of gold and silver, and perfect for pre electro-plating.
  • The top quality final lustre compound in the LUXI range.

PURPLE
  • Degree of cut: 7 (medium to high)
  • Brightness: 8 (high)
  • Weight: 275g
  • Low temperature low speed compound for Bristle brush wheels Designed for use on bristle brush wheels mounted on power tools. Working a low speeds, to polish intricate surfaces after 400-600 grit sandpaper. For use with all jewellery alloys for surface scratch removal.

GREEN
  • Degree of cut: 7 (medium to high)
  • Brightness: 8 (high)
  • Weight: 270g
  • Compound for lower RPM’s. Perfect for polishing platinum and titanium at 800-1000 rpm without “orange peel”. Best choice for hand polishing, polishing of intricate surfaces with felt tips and powertools. Compound compares to scratch removal 240 grit sandpaper if used on sisal buff. Also will give high lustre if used with 100mm loosefold buffs.

BROWN
  • Degree of cut: 7 (medium to high)
  • Brightness: 6 (high)
  • Weight: 220g
  • For polishing 1st stage scratch removal of plastics, veneers, acrylics, and for 1st stage scratch removal and 2nd stage lustering of soft metals such as brass, aluminium etc. For best results, 1st stage scratch removal use a calico 150 mm diameter stitched buff, and for 2nd stage lustre use a calico loosefold buff running @3000 rpm

BEIGE
  • Degree of cut: 1 (low)
  • Brightness: 8 (high)
  • Weight: 235g
  • For use on plastic, veneer and acrylic surfaces. 2nd stage Lustre process
  • Best results using 150 mm cotton loosefold buffs running @1000 rpm

Dispatch Times
We endeavour to dispatch all orders placed before 3pm on the same day (weekdays only, excluding bank holidays).

UK Mainland

  • Orders below £50: Charged at £2.95 and typically sent via Royal Mail 24 or 24 Tracked service.
  • Orders above £50: Sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24 service.

Please note that while next-day delivery is common, it cannot be guaranteed. If you urgently require your order, we strongly recommend selecting the Royal Mail Special Delivery option at checkout, which incurs an additional charge.

International

We are working to integrate with Royal Mail and DHL at checkout. For now, please add your items to the basket and contact us for a shipping quote at checkout.

Most international orders are shipped via Royal Mail’s Tracked and Signed service. Orders generally arrive within 4-10 days, but customs delays can occur. If no one is home, the item may be taken to your local sorting office.

UK Value Added Tax (VAT) Charges

We will automatically remove any applicable UK VAT from your order during checkout once you select a shipping destination outside the United Kingdom or Isle of Man.

You may be subject to import taxes, duties, and fees once your parcel arrives in your country. Typically, the courier will contact you once your parcel has been processed by customs.

For VAT purposes, Jersey and Guernsey are considered outside the United Kingdom, so UK VAT will be removed from orders shipping to these locations.
