Knew Concepts Titanium Soldering Strips (Clamps), Pack of 10
Inspired by British Master Goldsmith James Miller, these titanium strips can be easily bent into a wide range of specialized custom clamps for jeweller’s hard soldering operations.
Titanium has several advantages over traditional steel clamps when it comes to soldering. Solder doesn’t stick to it. Enamel doesn’t stick either. It stays strong when red hot. It doesn’t erode and flake away at heat, so your clamp tips can be smaller. Most importantly, titanium doesn’t transfer heat nearly as quickly as steel clamps, so it interferes with nearby joints less than steel clamps do.
These strips, made in the USA, are sold in a pack of 10, annealed “blanks” as straight 4" strips, to allow you to bend your own ideal clamp designs. Each soldering situation is different, and while there are a few basic designs that we illustrate in the how to bend and shape clamp instructions, every jeweller is different, and each solders in their own unique way, and will need clamps customized for their own personal style, or unique need. The titanium strips are fully annealed, and can be bent and filed to suit in minutes.
To date, we’ve found several uses for them:
- holding ear wires during soldering
- holding bails and jump rings
- re-setting sweat soldered panels that had warped during the first soldering
- clamping several items together during soldering
- soldering hemispheres into a full sphere
- holding spheres onto ring shanks
Delivery & Returns
Dispatch Times
We endeavour to dispatch all orders placed before 3pm on the same day (weekdays only, excluding bank holidays).
UK Mainland
- Orders below £50: Charged at £2.95 and typically sent via Royal Mail 24 or 24 Tracked service.
- Orders above £50: Sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24 service.
Please note that while next-day delivery is common, it cannot be guaranteed. If you urgently require your order, we strongly recommend selecting the Royal Mail Special Delivery option at checkout, which incurs an additional charge.

International
We are working to integrate with Royal Mail and DHL at checkout. For now, please add your items to the basket and contact us for a shipping quote at checkout.
Most international orders are shipped via Royal Mail’s Tracked and Signed service. Orders generally arrive within 4-10 days, but customs delays can occur. If no one is home, the item may be taken to your local sorting office.
UK Value Added Tax (VAT) Charges
We will automatically remove any applicable UK VAT from your order during checkout once you select a shipping destination outside the United Kingdom or Isle of Man.
You may be subject to import taxes, duties, and fees once your parcel arrives in your country. Typically, the courier will contact you once your parcel has been processed by customs.
For VAT purposes, Jersey and Guernsey are considered outside the United Kingdom, so UK VAT will be removed from orders shipping to these locations.
