Steel vs. Brass Bezel Rollers

The same tool with a slight difference - bezel rollers come with either steel or brass heads. So what’s the difference?

Steel has a highly polished surface, which makes it a bit more slippy. Because of this, very soft metals or delicate stones can be more prone to damage. It’s best suited for bezels made from thicker or harder metals, or when working with tougher stones. Steel is also a great choice for the initial push, as it’s slightly stronger than brass.

Brass is gentler on surfaces and less likely to leave marks, making it ideal for softer metals and more delicate stones. Its less polished finish provides better grip, reducing the chance of slipping. This makes it especially useful when working around fragile settings with thinner bezel wires and softer stones.

Both options are a great, inexpensive tool to add to your kit.
