If your watch has stopped working, replacing the battery or capacitor is often the simplest solution. However, before ordering a replacement, it's important to identify the correct part for your specific watch.
The information you'll need depends on the watch manufacturer.
We currently stock replacement batteries and capacitors for:
Follow the relevant guide below to identify the correct replacement for your watch.
Casio Watches
For Casio watches, the most reliable method is to check the battery currently fitted inside the watch. Remove the case back and locate check the reference printed onto the battery itself.
Casio batteries work using solar energy. When you first fit the battery, leave the watch in a sunny spot such as a windowsill for a few hours to allow it to gain its initial charge.
Seiko Watches
For Seiko watches, the easiest way to identify the correct capacitor is by finding the watch calibre number. The calibre number is usually engraved on the case back of the watch.

In most cases, you'll see a series of numbers separated by a dash, such as:
- V157-0AA0
- 7T92-0CF0
- H851-00A0
The first four characters are what we need to identify the capacitor.
Please note that capacitors and batteries are not the same thing. Capacitors include a battery (e.g. MT920) but the battery alone will not be suitable for a Seiko watch. Lots of capacitors use the same battery, which is why it is important that you check the calibre number.
Seiko capacitors work using kinetic energy. When you first fit the capacitor, wear the watch for a few hours to allow it to gain its initial charge.
Citizen Watches
For Citizen watches, the easiest way to identify the correct capacitor is by finding the watch calibre number. The calibre number is usually engraved on the case back of the watch.

In most cases, you'll see a series of numbers separated by a dash, such as:
Common Citizen calibre numbers include:
- E111
- E168
- B620
