This provides a stable base to work flat (through the hole) or in a raised position (using the cut out) to provide an angle to turn and work on the ring through 360.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhat is so useful about this tool is that it provides zero movement in the ring mandrel as you hammer or work the ring, enabling you to turn and work with no bounce back.
